MOVEMENT TAPPING
SATURDAY 11:30am

Movement Tapping

Andrea loves tapping with young, and not so young, people whose behaviour puts them on the ‘spectrum’. She has adapted EFT techniques to help people who process information in different ways. Movement tapping is her latest innovation.

Andrea Pusey

As a one year old I had a near death experience which left me with a legacy of anxiety relating to any medical matters. As an adult when I started my career in computer programming, I was taught valuable skills in problem solving and creative thinking but still I struggled with my anxiety. Whilst seeking support to deal with the effect of this trauma, I was introduced to EFT. It was an ‘aha’ moment for me and I even qualified as an EFT trainer.

I became interested in Autism when one of my clients was diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism. This client found the world around them very confusing and a source of great anxiety, something I could identify with.

The client struggled using traditional EFT and as I learnt more about autism, I explored new ways to apply these techniques and I used my computer skills to explain the world to them in a step by step approach.

My success with this client attracted the attention of the National Autism Society who started referring clients to me. Over the years I have evolved and modified tapping techniques to meet the unique challenges presented by clients on the autism spectrum. An example of this is Movement Tapping which evolved as a consequence of a client who had severe anger issues.  I subsequently discovered a much wider range of issues could be addressed with these techniques.
