TAPPING IN DETENTION
SATURDAY 12:30pm

Tapping in Detention

My last nursing job was based at Morton Hall IRC where we cared for approx. 400 multinational  men who were presumed illegal in the country and either awaiting trial or deportation.

A highly stressful environment, especially for the men as the stories of abuse and terror from their home countries were deeply disturbing. This resulted in a  high incidence of self harm and suicide attempts due to conditions related to high stress and anxiety, PTSD and substance misuse withdrawals.

I discovered  EFT Tapping and travelled to London to train and qualify. I then set up an Alternative Therapy arm to our service, running EFT group sessions for the detainees with yoga and meditation.  The GPs and other staff members soon started to refer patients to me as they could see the sessions were a benefit as they bridged a clear gap within the service.

The results for the detainees were almost instantaneous, especially for the reduction of their experience of stress and anxiety.  'Tapping' soon became an invaluable tool that both the detainees and also the staff used to support their journey's and their overall well-being.

I now use EFT in my 1:1 meditation and yoga sessions with great effect and I'm the Specialist Facilitator for Heart of the Health Services NHS Tine Out Days. I teach EFT Tapping to help build resilience for NHS staff and help to support their personal inner connection.

Becoming a parent was a dream come true for Samantha, but her crippling self-limiting beliefs & the aspects of the parenting relationship that triggered past fears & unresolved issues were a constant challenge.
